Once upon on time, I was running late for group study. I had a group study scheduled, and when I get to the library, as I walked into the room, I decided to shake hands with everyone in the room except the two girls wearing the hijab refused to shake hands with me.
I was confused and embarrassed. I wondered if the girls were mad because I was running late?
So at the end of the group study, I asked another Muslim friend why they refused to shake hands, and Ibrahim shouted, “typically, some Muslims woman not allowed to shake hands with another man except the husband, brother, or a close relative.”
He added that it is Ramadan; you not supposed to have physical contact,” I got even more confused with that statement until he explained to me what was Ramadan.
