Imagine you were told in January 2020 that the toilet paper would be more valuable than crude oil this year. That there would be long food bank lines in major cities around the world, you would have to wear a mask in public, and more than 300,000 people would die of the unheard disease. How would you react to hearing all those things? Crazy right?
Well, for some, this year was supposed to be the year of perfect vision, but no one knew what was about to come in few months ahead. If you remember the first bad news, the world witness started beginning in November.
The seasonal Bushfire in Australia took large proportions of the local habitats, killing many animals and displaced many families and some people lost their lives.
While Venice’s city was experiencing catastrophic flooding that causes significant damages to the buildings, Kenya was also experiencing the worst invasion of desert locust in 25 years. Remember that all this started in January of this year.
By February, the unheard virus starts to spray worldwide, countries began to close the border, businesses, and schools shut down, people were losing their jobs, and the number of deaths kept increasing across the globe.

In May, while in the middle of the pandemic, the world witnessed another tragic event of George Floyds’ death that ignited protests worldwide against social injustices. The protests are still going on, and the killing of people also continues. Go figure.
In August, the lightning strikes sparked several blazes that forced tens of thousands to leave their homes while the wildfires burned in California and some parts of Oregon.
So, while 2020 will go down in history for a virus that knew no geographic boundaries, it also could be remembered as the year of what got canceled, what is essential, and that anything can happen anytime.
